Mission accomplished!

I can finally check this one off my bucket list. Geno appeared before the Oilers game versus the St. Louis Blues October 30th, 2011 in his legendary hot dog costume!

That outfit is what started the conversation that got this blog rolling in the first place. Unfortunately I still don't have the time needed to update it with all of his puns but at the very least I can finally post what I've wanted to right from the start.

Without further delay I present... THE costume!

That's all folks

Well it was an interesting little experiment but I think it's safe to say it didn't go as I had anticipated. As far as I can tell the only folks that have viewed this blog are a couple of folks I've told about it as well as a couple curious folks from HF forums when I first started it up. The interest however has waned.

No worries though, it was a fun little run while it lasted. I told myself I would only keep putting in the effort if it seemed people were at least somewhat interested or as long as it was still fun to do. With neither criteria being met I'd say it's time to shut it down. That and I've found it really hard to commit the time needed to watch every second of the game waiting for a GPP to come up and then record and upload it later. I was hoping to do an interview with Gene after the season was over but I doubt he even knows this blog exists.

If I do notice a really good one from time to time I'll upload it to my Youtube account for sure and perhaps here if I'm in the mood. So at least some of the doozies will be there if anyone is ever looking. That's how this whole thing got started in the first place. Me looking for a picture or video of Gene Principe in a hot dog costume. Alas I haven't been able to track it down, but I do have him in a santa suit so that is a nice consolation prize.

I'm looking forward to the draft more and more as the season drags on. A nice big 1st line Center or top pairing defenceman sure would look good as part of the Oilers rebuild.

Take care everyone!

GPP - Edmonton at San Jose 01-13-10

Really good night on the GPP front but I'm starting to think it helps when the Oilers are actually playing well and winning. Go figure that watching a good hockey game improves ones sense of humor.

The mid season report cards are in and Geno isn't holding back. A nice clip as well on Cogliano's consecutive game streak even though he's been pretty banged up lately. Last but definitely not least, Penner's interview is golden. I wish the media would talk to him more often, he is a quote and sound byte machine.

GPP - Edmonton at Dallas 01-11-10

I didn't know Gene could sing before tonight. Now I know for sure he can't. Don't quit your day job Geno. I was quite impressed though how he continued on while the play was still underway. I kept expecting him to stop but he needed the... Satisfaction of finishing.

Bonus: Not really a GPP, but if it pans out I thought it would be neat to look back at Hall's first interview after playing at center in the NHL.

I won't be home till tomorrow so no GPP's tonight. If you notice any ones worth posting let me know what they were and approximately when they happened in the game and I'll try and get them up before the end of the weekend.
